Our Women's Restorative Winter Retreat Series is centered around rest, restorative activities, and a full on celebration of the natural cycle of hibernation in Wisconsin.

Embrace the quiet beauty of Winter in Wisconsin with our third annual series of Women's Restorative Winter Retreats. These annual retreats are designed to honor the natural cycle of hibernation, focusing on rest, relaxation, and renewal. There will be plenty of wellness workshops, crafting activities, art therapy, and free time for rest and relaxation. 

Both retreats in this series will offer an entirely optional schedule of unique restorative activities and learning or group discussion sessions. There will be nourishing meals, scheduled quiet/nap time, and plenty of guidance for attendees to help recenter themselves as the new year begins.

Weekend Overview

*Everything during these retreats are totally optional! No pressure to attend everything or ANYTHING at all. Spend your time how you'd like to!*

Friday: Arrive & Welcome In Relaxation

1:00 to 6:00 pm: Check-in at Durward's Glen, enjoy quiet time to decompress and relax

6:00 pm: Welcome orientation and supper

7:00 to 8:30 pm: Guided Paint & Wine Night 

8:30 - 9:30 pm: Quiet time, down time, and encouraged early bedtime

Saturday: Dive Into Rest & Hibernation

7:00 am - 9:45 am: Slow, cozy breakfast prepared by "Chef Mary"

  • 10:00 am - 11:00 am: Morning Movement with Becca in the South Wing or Guided Winter Walk (outside) with Jeri

    11:00 am - 12:30 pm: Guided Meditation and Mindful Journaling with Tatsiana in the Main Hall

    12:30 pm - 1:30 pm: Nourishing winter lunch buffet in the Main Hall

    1:45 pm - 3:15 pm: Solace In The Stillness: Quiet creative expression time: Arts & crafts stations, reading, journaling, walking the trails, reflection, rest, prayer or meditation - this time is yours to spend how you’d like!

    3:15 pm - 4:45 pm: Discovering Your Inner Hygge - Winter Art Therapy Workshop with Tammy or Honoring Hibernation & Heart Healing Group Discussion with Steven

    4:45 pm - 5:30 pm: Solace In The Stillness: Quiet creative expression time: Arts & crafts stations, reading, journaling, walking the trails, reflection, rest, prayer or meditation - this time is yours to spend how you’d like!

    5:30 pm - 6:30 pm: Happy Hour served in the Main Hall

    6:30 pm -7:30 pm: A comforting, winter buffet supper in the Main Hall

    7:30 pm - 8:45 pm: Southing Musical Performance by Krista in the South Wing

    9:00 pm: Quiet free time and encouraged early bedtime for optimal rest

Sunday: Emerge Rested

7:00 am - 9:45 am: A cozy continental breakfast

9:45 am - 10:45 am: Guidance, journaling prompts & morning beverages

10:45 am - 12:45 pm: Self-check out & return home rested and restored

Meet Steven: With over 25 years of experience as a Case Manager, Youth Minister, Public Speaker, and a Life Coach, Steven has facilitated many retreats, mentored countless people, and consistently held an office within a clinical setting. 

Drawing from his own profound journey of healing and decades of professional experience, Steven is committed to guiding you through heart healing workshops.

Meet Jeri: As a current Board Member of Durward's Glen Retreat Center, Jeri will guide you throughout the weekend. From reminders to unplug and relax to leading journaling sessions, Jeri will ensure your retreat weekend is as relaxing as possible. Jeri's goal is to provide exceptional hospitality, activities centered around the natural cycle of winter hibernation, and a smooth retreat experience.

  • The January retreat is 4 days and 3 nights. The February retreat is 3 days and 2 nights. BOTH are all inclusive with optional add-on services.

    • Entire weekend breaks down to roughly $160/day, providing an affordable, all-inclusive weekend!

    • Welcome gift with local goods to support rest & relaxation

    • Loungewear for ultimate comfort on Saturday or the retreat

    • Unique restorative activities

    • Optional add-on massage

    • All meals, happy hour, and snacks

    • Ample time to rest, relax, read, check out of your day-to-day

    • Two (or three) night stay at Durward’s Glen, depending on retreat weekend (linens included)

  • This is a high-level overview of your retreat schedule:

    FRIDAY: Check in, free time, decompress & get to know your surroundings, dinner, cocktails/mocktails, welcome activity and early bedtime.

    SATURDAY: Sleep in, hot breakfast is served, restorative activities or rest time, optional add-on massages, lunch, happy hour, dinner, sound bath, and early bedtime.

    SUNDAY: Sleep in, continental breakfast and self check-out at your own pace.

  • 1. Cancellation prior to 21 days of arrival is eligible for a full refund

    2. Cancellation prior to 14 days of arrival is eligible for a 50% refund of total cost

    3. Cancellation within 7 days of arrival is a full charge, meaning there is no refund

    *If the winter weather on either travel day (Friday or Sunday of the retreat) is dangerous, Durward’s Glen will cancel the retreat and provide a full refund. We will do our best to reschedule the retreat for the Spring or Fall of 2024.
